Tying Instructions
- Slide bead on hook.
- Make 15-20 wraps of lead wire. Push front end into bead to prevent spinning. Super glue to prevent twisting of the body.
- Tie in black goose biot tails.
- Tie in black Body Stretch.
- Dub an underbody to thicken up the abdomen.
- Wrap Body Stretch. Tie off and trim.
- Tie in Raffia and black sparkle chenille. Rafia should be coated with two coats of Flexament before tying it in.
- Build 1st wingcase by pulling raffia over one or two wraps of chenille. Fold over wingcase, tie off, and tie back raffia.
- Tie in legs. You can position them by manipulating how you wrap the sparkle chenille. Wrap sparkle chenille, tie off and trim.
- Build 2nd wingcase by folding over raffia. Tie off and trim.
- Tie in antennae over the bead. You can also tie the antennae before sliding the bead on. This takes a little longer to do but it doesn't hurt how the fly fishes.
- Make a wrap or two of black sparkle dubbing just to make the head area neater.
- Whip finish and lacquer.
