Pattern Description

This is another in the series from Charlie Craven of Charlie's Fly Box.

This is the newest version of my Jujubaetis Nymph. The original version was very similar, but in my constant tweaking, I have come up with a couple new additions to the bug that streamline its shape, improve the durability and add some fish attracting flash. I have also been playing with several new color combinations to imitate specific insects more accurately. The version shown here is the original brown and black combo, but the Jujubaetis can be tied to match any mayfly nymph you find. I am really excited about this new pattern and think it will be a front runner in my box, surpassing the ubiquitous Pheasant Tail as one of my favorite mayfly nymphs. Tie a few up and see what you think.

The Juju series of flies by Charlie has been productive in the Sacramento River at various times of the year and deserve a spot in your fly box. All materials used here are available for mail order from Charlies Fly Box
